Jessica Simpson's fashion empire just got another big bump. Of the baby variety. The new mama to baby Maxwell not only had a happy Mother's Day, but a lucrative one as well, as she announced plans Monday morning to expand her already billion-dollar business (no, really) even further, setting her sights on the style of the baby-bumping set, making good on her promise to launch a maternity line.

As if that wasn't enough, E! News has confirmed that Jess and baby daddy Eric Johnson have finally sold the first photos of their darling daughter to the highest bidder. So which magazine made them an offer they couldn't refuse? And just how much are they making from the shots?

Looks like the lucky winner this time around is People magazine, as sources confirm that the glowing parents have accepted a deal to publish the first photos of their baby girl for a cool $850,000. Not a bad chunk of change for baby's first photo shoot.

Meanwhile, as for that other baby of hers -- Jessica Simpson Maternity -- unlike her last major undertaking, this one won't take nine months of gestation.

Instead, the 31-year-old unveiled the everyday line today, and vowed to have the debut collection -- which features maxi dresses, leggings, printed tops, blazers and a generally 1970s vintage feel--in stores by this fall.

"I'm so excited to partner with Destination Maternity to design a collection of fashionable styles that make you look and feel great," she said. "You want to wear clothes that are flattering to your baby bump; you want to show off your bump."

Even better news: the collection is priced starting at just $36 with no piece priced above $100. The line will be available in all 700 of Destination Maternity's stores nationwide. Now that's how you build an empire.

That's not the only news-making tidbit the first-time mom-to-be has in store -- Simpson also reveals to the mag that she's having a baby girl!

"She," Simpson, engaged to former NFL pro Eric Johnson, says of the baby.

And Simpson and Johnson have already come up with a name for their daughter, too -- but nothing too out-there in the vein of "Maple" or "Apple!"

"We're sure," of the name, the fashion mogul says. "We're embroidering it on things. It's nothing shocking and nothing you'll have to add to the dictionary. When people hear it, they'll know why."

The "Fashion Star" mentor admits that it was hard to give up alcohol once she became pregnant. "Givin' up my Scotch? My Macallan 18? That was hard for me! Though now being pregnant, you crave other things. A big thing of water sounds great!"

If you had any lingering doubts that Jessica Simpson is running an unstoppable fashion empire, let us put them to rest. Thursday night, at the launch of her joint fashion venture with little sister Ashlee, Jessica told the press she’s already working on two or three new projects — and no, none of them involves singing.

Women’s Wear Daily reports that Simpson, who’s expecting a child of her own soon, plans on adding clothes for pregnant women to her repertoire — and stuff for the under-5 set to run around in, too.

Simpson called the new girls’ collection, being produced by The Jones Group Inc., “a combination of both of our styles. She [Ashlee] is very rock ’n’ roll, and I’m very American.” She also said she just signed a deal for a maternity line, and will also be designing girls’ footwear. And should she give birth to a boy? Boys’ clothing is a possibility, too, she added.

Simpson will find out the sex of her unborn child on Monday, and if it’s a boy, we’d be willing to bet a line called Simpson by Jessica Simpson will be in stores by next spring.

So let’s recap: She’s got shoes, handbags, outerwear, denim, apparel, fragrances, luggage and and a jewelry line, all of which are more or less selling like gangbusters. Once she figures out a way to do men’s clothing and starts putting feelers out for a home collection, Jessica Simpson is basically going to rule the lifestyle category. And there’s nothing you can do about it.
