I love the Jessica Simpson dress, but at $90, it seems a bit overpriced, considering it can only be worn on special occasions as it is too shiny for an everyday look and for work.

What's on bloggers' holiday wish list?

They're always on the Internet, so you can be sure they've scoured the best sites for their wish list. Find out what bloggers are hoping for this holiday season:

    Plum Street Prints

"The designs are really modern and fresh. With all the kid clutter in my purse it would be nice to reach inside and see something this stylish peeking out at me."
    — Heather Armstrong, Dooce.com

Custom iPhone case, $55, Plum Street Prints

    ShopTerrain.com

"From the oldest seed company in the USA, these heirloom seeds are the perfect gift for the green thumb who wants to start a first lady-inspired kitchen garden this spring."
    — Mary Tomer Byun, Mrs-O.com

    Heirloom Seed Collection, $25, ShopTerrain

    Birchbox

"Birchbox is like beauty tapas — for $10 a month, you get a delicious array of hair, makeup and skincare samples from big-name companies, beautifully wrapped and thoughtfully put together (a recent special inclusion? Tiny pieces of chocolate). You can give three-, six-, or twelve-month gift subscriptions, but frankly, you may just want to give it to yourself."
    — Heather and Jessica, Go Fug Yourself

    Birchbox subscription, $10 / month, Birchbox.com

    MCMC

"My dad, sister and I spent a long weekend in Maine a few years ago, and I'll never forget staying at a cozy B&B, hiking through forests and eating lobster for every meal. Maine is a magical place! So, my wishlist includes this Maine perfume, which smells of the sea, air, sun and pine."
    — Joanna Goddard, A Cup of Jo

    Maine perfume, $95, MCMC Fragrances

    Kate Spade

"I'm adding a deck of gilded playing cards from Kate Spade New York to my holiday wish list.  At $18 a pop, deal me in!"
    — Jessica Quirk, What I Wore

    Gold playing cards, $18, Katespade.com

    Amazon.com

"What  fashion lover wouldn't be over the moon to receive Christian Louboutin's latest coffee table book? Brimming with gorgeous photos of coveted red soles, complete with pop-ups and a pretty pink leather cover, this book is a step into the fantasy life Christian Louboutin has created for women worldwide."
    — Maegan Tintari, ...love Maegan

    Christian Louboutin, $94.50, Amazon.com

    Live Like You

"Since I moved into a new apartment this year, I'm wishing for a new set of throw pillows to dress up my couch. I love this classic greek key style pattern in fun colors."
    — Caitlin Moran, Style Within Reach

Turquoise Key Standard Sham, $43, Live Like You

    20x200

"I'm an enormous, undying fan of the limited-edition prints on Jen Bekman's 20x200 — in fact, 20x200 was the direct inspiration for Of a Kind. I've been eyeying this print by Chad Hagen — it's part of a series called Nonsensical Infographics and I already have the first 3 — they're gorgeous, but they also have an element of subtle humor to them, which I like."
    — Claire Mazur, Of a Kind

    Nonsensical Infographic No. 6, $50, 20 x 200

    Etsy

"Claire, my business partner, and I have been trying to be better about bringing our lunches, and this suede bag from Homestead Leatherworks would make the whole experience feel a lot more polished. The leather also happens to be my favorite color at this very moment — which is the same hue as this incredible kale salad that I'm hoping to put inside."
    — Erica Cerulo, Of a Kind

    By Merisa Fink

Sure, you can use your nifty Trader Joe's grocery bags to wrap your gifts this year. But if you want to jazz it up a little, check out some of these quirky wrapping papers that prove that what's on the outside can be as fun as what's on the inside.

    Pam Lostracco on Etsy.com

If you leave these under the tree too early, you might find the puzzle completed long before Santa comes. Don't blame them if they complete the crossword without opening the gift first. $5 per set, Pam Lostracco on Etsy.com

    Bloomin.com

For the eco-conscious on Santa's nice list, give them a gift wrapped in a gift with this plantable seed paper that will bloom within weeks! Plantable gift wrap ensures they'll be thinking about you long after the snow melts! Bloomin.com

Perfect for the blended or non-denominational celebration, this wrapping isn't as bland as its message. You can't get much more. $5.99, ThinkGeek.com

    nineteenseventythree.com

Wrap your gift in this paper, then wrap it in another box wrapped in this paper, then wrap that in yet another, bigger box wrapped in this paper, then.... well, you get it. Nesting dolls are a great way to decorate your nest! $4, nineteenseventythree.com

    ThinkGeek

Prove you're a hero (not a zero) to the lovable geek in your life with this binary paper sure to score a 10. $5.99, ThinkGeek.com

    ThinkGeek

Bacon's not just for breakfast. Caution: may distract Santa from the cookies.  $3.99, ThinkGeek.com

Fast food is reinvented in this luxe wrapping set sure to make them ask you to super-size their gift. Sarah Fay and Justin Colt's Gift Couture — "a start-up creative and innovative wrapping paper company" — introduces the mouth-watering Cheeseburger set! Available for pre-order on Kickstarter

The very best beauty buys for under $32

Need some new makeup for the new year? Shape magazine’s Bahar Takhtehchian reveals which affordable skin and makeup products, that hit store shelves in 2011, scored big among her team of editors:

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Moisturizer, $20, drugstores
This product came out in January of this year and contains a fast-acting version of retinol, a powerful wrinkle erasing ingredient. You'll see visible results after a week.

Sephora collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover, $9.50, Sephora
Another January 2011 favorite: This supreme makeup remover doesn't bat an eye when it comes to removing even the most stubborn waterproof eye makeup. The multi-benefit formula softens and stimulates with HydroSenn+ and Procapil for ultimate hydration and lash strengthening properties. All signs of makeup are eliminated without leaving a greasy residue or irritation.

Clairol Foam Hair Color, $8, drugstores
At-home foam hair dyes are big news. Lots of women were afraid to color at home because of the huge mess and the fact that it can stain your skin. This product, from February 2011, is thick so when you smooth it on it stays put. Plus the color will be true to the box.

Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Body Serum, $19.99, Target
From March 2011, this body serum is an extension of the original, best-selling Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum, which was selling one bottle every 8 seconds at Target when it was first introduced! Formulated with ultra moisturizing complex combining nourishing argan Oil and moisture-locking hyaluronic acid to provide lasting, skin enhancing hydration, and pro retinol vitamin A works to normalize skin cell renewal.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil, $20, Sephora
Following in its mama's (24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil) footsteps... 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil has the highest color payout, longest wear time (stays put for over 16 hours!), smoothest application, no creasing, easiest to blend before dry down and hottest color selection. The big, highly pigmented eyeshadow pencils, available in 12 luscious, drop-dead shades and finishes, are free of parabens, mineral oil, and paraffin. Long-lasting, smudge proof, and waterproof, the 24/7 formula glides on smoothly and feels lightweight.

Garnier Dark Spot Corrector, $16.99, drugstores
From July 2011, this spot corrector contains ultra-high levels of vitamin C to fade brown spots, which can age you by as much as 20 years. (Some docs say that they're even more aging than wrinkles.)

    Burt's Bees Sensitive Night Cream, $15, Burtsbees.com
The end of summer in August brought us new night cream from Burt's Bees and an entire line of "sensitive" products. This night cream is clinically proven to gently moisturize without causing redness or irritation because it is distinctly formulated with cotton extract to soften, rice extract to moisturize, and aloe to soothe skin, so your skin is left looking and feeling healthy.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick, $32, Chanel.com
And just last month in November, Chanel's new velvet lipstick in various shades. Formulated with ultra-thin mother-of-pearl pigments, it delivers intensely rich color with a soft, sumptuous, matte finish. Smooth and comfortable on lips, this modern matte is never drying. With eight alluring shades presented in the iconic click-open case, this velvety matte lipstick is the ultimate in sophistication.

    Bobbie's Minute Buzz: Giving back

    TODAY style editor Bobbie Thomas

    By Bobbie Thomas

While today marks the start of the year's busiest shopping season, it's more importantly also a time when we all pause to acknowledge what we're thankful for and share that thanks with others. So there is no time like the present to scoop up thoughtful gifts that give back for the holidays. Whether you've already hit some of Black Friday's sales or you plan to avoid the crowds in favor of Cyber Monday, TODAY Style Editor and Bobbie.com's Bobbie Thomas shares stylish ideas that you'll feel good about giving.

The Beauty Book for Brain Cancer

Founded by photographer Darren Tieste in 2009 after losing a friend to brain cancer, and then produced in collaboration with "Pantera" Sarah Uphoff whose also lost her mother to the disease, The Beauty Book for Brain Cancer is a 312 page hardcover coffee table book featuring stunning images of many of the world's most famous celebrities, musicians and top models. A beautiful homage to those affected by brain cancer, all of the book's proceeds go directly to research via two charities: SNOG and HEADRUSH. ($39.99; TheBeautyBook.org)

    FEED Projects

Hunger is #1 on the list of the of the world's top 10 health risks and FEED is an organization started by acclaimed model and activist Lauren Bush along with Ellen Gustafson that aims to help provide food to the hungry both here in the U.S. and abroad. What stared with the design of the FEED 1 bag, a reversible burlap and cotton bag whose number "1" signifies that each bag sold feeds one child in school for one year, FEED has now sold over $6 million worth of products (from cute and cuddly teddy bears, to totes, to bracelets and beyond) and provided over 60 million meals ($15-100; FEEDprojects.com)

    Social Goodies

While e-commerce daily deal sites seem to be all the rage these days, Social Goodies is one that stands out as distinct in that it's goal is to raise money for charity while also providing good deals. Consumers will get up to 70% off fashion, beauty, lifestyle and home decor items and then be able to donate 20% of the gross purchase price to one of the site's sponsored charities. There is also an option to give "Goodie Bucks" which the receiver can then use to shop with and apply their 20% to the charity of their choosing. (SocialGoodies.com)

Who would give napkins as a gift without a table cloth? Also most of the other gifts are just clutter items that unless you are lucky will not match anything in the home. Only the book, maybe the glasses if they have none and the note paper seem somewhat useful.
