I like the shoes, you can pair them with anything solid to add some spark. I like the dress but the large patterns wouldn't look good on me, unless paired with a blazer. The skirt's kind of cute. It would look nice with a bluish/purple blouse that matches the flowers.

Love Ann, but not the clothes. The color block, applicade flowers on the cream dress not so good. The high waisted skirts get a not also. Sorry Ann, you are so beautiful and I love you on the Today show, but you need Stacy London's help with your clothes

I love the Jessica Simpson dress, but at $90, it seems a bit overpriced, considering it can only be worn on special occasions as it is too shiny for an everyday look and for work.

Duchess Kate's velvet gown reminiscent of Diana's

    By Rina Raphael

    Was Kate channeling Princess Diana?

The duchess turned heads on Saturday at the Sun Military Awards in London while decked out in a velvet gown by Alexander McQueen, along with matching diamond bracelet and earrings and a ruby and diamond necklace. The elegant choice was remarkably similar to a style the late princess (then Lady Diana Spencer) wore to a fundraiser at The Royal Opera House in 1981 with her then-fiance Prince Charles.

    Getty Images file

March 9 1981: Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer attend their first public engagement together, a recital at London's Goldsmith's Hall in aid of the Royal Opera House Development Appeal.

Diana’s choice – designed by Elizabeth and David Emmanuel, who would also craft her wedding gown – was also made of velvet, and featured a sweetheart neckline and subtle ruffles. (It sold at auction last year for about $300,000, according to the Daily Mail).

One other standout? The sapphire diamond engagement ring, originally worn by Diana, given to Kate from Prince William. While the real baubles are hard to come by, you can get this royal look with the help of Caitlin Moran of Style Within Reach. Check out these stunning, affordable buys:

    1. Dress, $34, H&M
    2. Triple Chain Necklace, $10.80, Forever21
    3. Marvella Silver Floral Stretch Bracelet, $24.99, Target
    4. Vanessa Bruno Athe Strapless velvet dress, $92.50, The Outnet
    5. Gem Link Necklace, $46, Bauble Bar
    6. Cascading Velvet Dress, $109.95, Coldwater Creek

I love #1 and #5 but because of the designs they're probably not as versatile as #2 or #3. I could wear the plain ones a dozen times in a season and people probably wouldn't remember. The designed ones not so much.

Who would give napkins as a gift without a table cloth? Also most of the other gifts are just clutter items that unless you are lucky will not match anything in the home. Only the book, maybe the glasses if they have none and the note paper seem somewhat useful.
