Naomi Watts (left), shown in Sydney, Australia on Feb. 1, has been tapped to play the late Princess Diana, shown in Tuzla, Bosnia on Aug. 9, 1997, in a new film not yet in production.

They're certainly big royal shoes to fill. (She was a size 9.)

Naomi Watts is now set to play the late Princess Diana, according to Variety. "Caught In Flight," which originally had "Tree of Life" star Jessica Chastain attached, will tell the story of Diana's last two years, specifically how  "finding true personal happiness for the first time allowed her to evolve into a major international campaigner and humanitarian."

The acclaimed Australian actress, 43, says she's honored to portray the iconic princess who died at age 36, telling Variety: "Princess Diana was loved across the world, and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen." They're both beautiful blondes, and both possess a certain grace and charm.

What do you think? Are you fan of the casting?

No. I think they should leave that poor woman to rest in peace. Nobody knows her story but her and her sons.

I think it is good. I like that they keep talking about her, keeping her alive Shoving it in that old hags face (whats her name again? Camilla?) and that old Biatch "The Queen". I think it is great that everybody still loves her and will never forget her.

She looks nothing like her, except the fact that her eyes are blue and her hair is blonde. She is also almost a decade as old as Diana was when she passed away. Let Diana rest in peace.
