Natalie, Al, Ann and Matt and team celebrate 60 years of TODAY.
The plaza isn't the only thing dressed up for TODAY's 60th anniversary: even the talent's wardrobe got a birthday makeover! Ann wore a bright, TODAY-themed rainbow dress — custom-designed by Lisa Perry — to help ring in the festivities in style. (When it comes to celebrating, we're certainly not subtle.)

Ann gets in the spirit with a special TODAY-themed dress.
Ann follows a long TODAY tradition of appreciating fashion. As we celebrate this landmark TV event, take a look back to the style of yore. Check out this great video from Aug. 29, 1956, in which TODAY’s Helen O’Connell shows Dave Garroway which silhouettes for women, from two of America’s top fashion houses, were going to be popular that fall.

Flashback: Duchess Kate's Scout style

To everybody at NBC, I wish to congradulate you all on 60 year's of success. I wake up each morning, and have Today set to record. Then I take care of a few thing's. Usually, at the 7:30 time, I am all ready. So I sit back in my chair, and just watch and enjoy the Today Show.
But, I just wish you did not have the 4th hour. I watched the entire show for 1 month when the 4th hour was added. After a while, it just got me really angry. Here was/is Kathie Lee Gifford. Okay, and here's Hoda. But, if I knew beforehand that KLG need's to consume alcohol every waking minute, I would not have bothered with the 4th hour at all.
Because I live in Suffolk County, NY. I would have to get a train to NYC, and stay in a hotel, overnight. But seeing what I see on TV is just as good.
LOVE Ann's dress! Such a great idea to celebrate the 60th Anniversary.
Ann's dress is colorful.
The dress is definitely on target with the theme of the anniversary, but it looks like a maternity dress. Certainly, more could be added to its style. However, I've always loved Ann Curry. The designer is in question here.
Ironically tonight is the fiftieth anniversary of the death of video visionary Ernie Kovacs. It was the success that Ernie had locally with his morning program on Philadelphia's W-PTZ (Channel 3) that inspired NBC's president Pat Weaver (brother of Doodles) to launch the today program.
Don't hold your breath waiting for the likes of Ernie Kovacs to pass this way again anytime soon. He's gone and he's not coming back. I'm dealing with it.
It's been real!
